Dance and Drama supplement the curriculum
Dance
In the Junior School, dance is taught as a lesson each week based on the Royal Academy of Dance Ballet Syllabus and Jazz based on the syllabus from the Imperial Society of Dance. You can also opt for extra ballet lessons as individuals or in small groups which enables you to work towards exams.
Drama
Drama builds confidence. We aim to put on one full production a year which includes everyone from Reception to Year 2 and sometimes Year 3.
Music
Children can start to learn to play an instrument in the Prep Prep. Every child is taught to play the recorder and joins the Junior Choir.
The Pre- Prep

As children progress through Reception and Years 1 and 2, there is a growing formality in academic studies, taking National Literacy and Numeracy schemes as a guide.
There is also plenty of time allowed for less formal learning, with regular ‘hands on’ sessions in the maths, science and computer rooms or out in the school grounds using our own 'Forest School' classroom. Music, French, art and drama enrich the curriculum and together with a high emphasis on physical education provide the diversity upon which the school's ethos thrives.

Hands on practical maths in Year 1
During Years 1 and 2 there are increasingly regular visits by staff from the Main School. Year 2 children are invited to join the children in the Prep School for hobbies in the Summer Term. Our aim is for the children to become familiar with the senior part of the school throughout Year 2, to ease the transition between the two.

Junior Boarding
In the summer term Year 2 can join the Friday Night Junior Boarding Club which gives them the opportunity to experience flexi boarding before they move into the Prep School. Each term the Boarding House opens its doors to Pre-Prep children and holds a sleep over weekend with special activities for the younger children.
