Saturday morning hobbies
As we celebrate the success of our 'all round scholars' we acknowledge our huge debt to all the staff, parents and friends who provide such a wide field of activities to choose from each Saturday morning. The enthusiasm with which these hobbies are led inspires many a new interrest and gives the opportunity and therefore the reassurance that trying something new is not only fun but also rewarding.
The school offers tasters in Riding, Drama, Dance, Cookery, Construction, Photography, Music Technology and Sailing to name but a few.
The children in Years 3 - 8 come into school each Saturday morning and take part in two hobby sessions which they choose from the list each term. Hobbies such as Sailing may take up two sessions to allow enough time on the water and others such as pottery or railway may have two seperate sessions to allow more children to take part. The list of available hobbies changes each term, so children always have plenty of opportunity to experience something different.
